November 5 is the birth date of this well-favored cricketing star. This man is referred as Tendulkar’s “successor” due to similar batting styles. Dean Jones called this man – “new king of world cricket”. His favourite shot is cover drive. I am exchanging my ideas about none other than but Virat Kohli.

Hailing from the NCR, Kohli was stratified eighth in the list of world’s famous athletes in 2016 by ESPN.   Kohli made his ODI debut at the age of 19 against Sri Lanka and settled himself securely in the ODI middle order. Kohli got success in all three formats. He was appointed vice-captain of the ODI team in 2012. He currently captains the Indian team in Test Cricket format.

Media described Cheeku as “brash” and “arrogant” during his early career. Many former cricketers have criticized Kohli for this while some have supported him.

He co-owned club FC Goa of Indian Super League because he “wanted football to grow in India”. Besides he also co-owned UAE Royals and Bengaluru Yodhas. Recently Kohli gave head start to Stepathlon Kids, in partnership with Stepathlon Lifestyle. Regarding his endorsements in 2014 , the UK based magazine Sportspro rated Kohli as the second most marketable athlete in the world behind only Lewis Hamilton. As of march 2016 , Kohli has endorsement deals with 13 brands, namely, few are Adidas, Audi, Pepsico, MRF.

Among his notable awards include the Arjuna Award which he received in the year 2013 given by the Ministry of Sports, Government of India to recognize outstanding achievement in National Sports. Others include ICC ODI Player of the Year: 2012, CEAT International cricketer of the Year – 2013-14.

Sehwag’s tweet on Kohli’s 28th birthday read,

“Haazme ki Goli, Rangon ki Holi,Gujarat me Ghagra Choli

Aur Batting mein Virat Kohli

Poore India ko pasand hai#HappyBirthdayVirat”

Shane Warne said “Virat Kohli better than AB de Villiers, says Shane Warne”. Sanjay Manjrekar had once said, “Kohli’s success doesn’t surprise you, his failures do.” We, at 7tint, wish Kohli a very successful year ahead!
