A YOUNG man has been hailed a hero after risking his life trying to save a girl falling from an 11th floor window.
Feng Ning was picked up on CCTV cameras running in front of a residential building with his arms outstretched in a bid to catch the girl.
She was plummeting at such speed, the woman is barely visible in the footage as she crashes into Feng’s arms and onto the road in China’s Hubei Province.
The impact sent Feng collapsing to the ground, leaving him with multiple injuries.
Despite his brave efforts, the woman died at the scene.
He said: “I don’t regret (what I did). It’s a shame that I couldn’t save her.”
Feng revealed he’d just left a restaurant when he heard someone crying for help from a nearby residential block.
He then saw a woman dangling from the 11th floor window.
Feng said: “I ran to the building, but she had already fallen before I could reach the entrance. So I got ready to catch her instead. I don’t know what happened next.”
Speaking of the injuries as a result of his heroics, Dr Li Yanbing said: “Feng suffered injuries on his knee joints, and had a tibial plateau fracture. His anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments and the medial ligament have been dislocated.”
