Sparrow

Sparrow Oh little bird, You carry nostalgia on your frail wings. Smell of rain soaked yards, Pink of blooms from my garden, Tangy sour mangoes of my village. And the warmth only love brings, Lasts a life time on your flitting sight. Dance in steps- life brims over the edge, Innocence in your oblivion, Brings back the home I have left behind. Songs you sing echoes in walls of my heart, Ripples across my little world and splinters into pieces. The green of my land and orchards of giddy happiness, Lines of betel nut trees, Egrets with long beak, foraging ponds with nobility, Reflects on the broken pieces of my memory. Take me home, oh little bird, To the time we chased all the colors of rainbow. And butterfly wings,  When the sun brought promises, And the stars sang lullabies, To the lost childhood and maybe we will find life again. Facebook Feeds:
